I wrote a thesis
Well, it's not technically a thesis, since there was no defense, but "Major Research Paper" just doesn't have the same ring to it
Two days ago, I submitted the final version of my capstone research paper for the completion of my master’s degree in linguistics. Let this post be my one size fits all solution to anyone asking “What was your thesis about?” or “Can I read it?” or “Wow haha Ky you’re so smart and talented can you please tell me everything about your linguistic pet topic of Chinese numeral classifiers?” (I mostly get the latter).
I won’t bother giving much more preamble, but if historical linguistics, especially regarding Asian languages, is your jam or if you’re just curious, please give it a read. You can check it out here.
I hope to turn this newsletter into a repository for the random nonsense I write. It will probably be a lot of poetry, but I’ve wanted to try my hand at personal essays, so maybe some bumbling attempts at that among other things as well.
